Was born and bred in Marrakesh, Morocco, a city that has been historically open to different cultures and influences with good and bad effects for its locals. He works as an English teacher in a village called Tamellalt, 50 km from Marrakesh, to which he commutes and which offers the opportunity to get rid of the hubs of Marrakesh, a city that in most cases doesn't sleep. He was exposed to the media thanks mainly to the BBC, which he considers a unique broadcasting corporation as it has its own flavour compared to other main news organizations. He set up a blog called Regular Comments Based on Issues Raised by BBC Worldhaveyoursay Extracts and links to some of his articles were picked up on Global Voices. He has appeared on BBC Have Your Say and World Have Your Say on several occasions. Considers blogging an opportunity to be independent of the views of "media experts" and to express oneself freely instead of remaining just mere recipient of views, and says, "the Internet has unquestionably become the fifth power. It's up to the individuals to make their cases heard and to create their own networks instead of leaving mainstream media set the agenda for them about what they should or shouldn't know and how to react to it."
